CAF Denies Immediate Expansion Plans for Champions League & Confederation Cup


Amid swirling speculation over a potential expansion of CAF's interclub competitions, a source within the Confederation of African Football (CAF) has firmly denied any imminent changes to the current formats of the CAF Champions League and CAF Confederation Cup.
In a statement to FilGoal, the CAF source clarified:
"The idea of increasing the number of clubs in African competitions was indeed discussed last March, but it was only an informal suggestion. The executive committee has not yet reviewed it."
The source added that the proposal is not currently on the agenda of any upcoming CAF Executive Committee meetings and emphasized that there are no signs of an imminent change for next season.

Although there is ongoing discussion about the possibility of growing Africa's premier events, CAF has made it clear that there are now no plans to expand.
