CAF Cup: OC Safi makes a strong start on the continental stage

The Moroccan side OC Safi defeated AC Djoliba 1-0 in their opening match of the CAF Confederation Cup group stage.

For a debut, it was a resounding success for the Moroccan club. OC Safi surprised AC Djoliba on Sunday, November 23, 2025, as the Bamako-based Reds started the game with a healthy dose of confidence and determination.

But they hadn't reckoned with the dream, the spark ignited by the OC Safi debutants. In the 29th minute, they opened the scoring thanks to Sofiane Yanis. The Stade du 26 Mars fell silent in the minutes that followed. At the final whistle, OC Safi secured the three points and boosted their confidence.

On Matchday 2 of the CAF Confederation Cup, OC Safi will play their first African Cup match at home, in a Maghreb derby against USM Alger. AC Djoliba, meanwhile, will travel to Ivory Coast to face San Pedro FC.
