Al Ahly head coach Jess Thorup has spoken about the importance of fan support as his side prepares for a crucial CAF Champions League encounter against Young Africans.

Speaking ahead of the match in an interview with beIN SPORTS, the Danish tactician admitted that the team has felt the absence of Al Ahly’s passionate supporters following the resumption of continental football after the Africa Cup of Nations break.

“This match is very important for both teams today. We are back to continue playing matches in the tournament,” Thorup told beIN SPORTS. “We miss our fans very much and we hope for strong support from them today for the team to help us win and collect the 3 points,” he added.
