CAF Awards Morocco AFCON 2025 Title After Senegal Forfeit Decision

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has officially awarded Morocco the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations title following a ruling by its Appeal Board.

The final, originally played in January, had been won by Senegal, but the match was overshadowed by controversy after Senegal’s players walked off the pitch in protest of a refereeing decision.

After reviewing the incident, CAF’s Appeal Board ruled that Senegal’s actions constituted a forfeiture. As a result, the victory has been overturned, and Morocco have now been declared champions of AFCON 2025.
