CAF Awards: “I worked hard and I’m being rewarded,” Fiston Mayele
Congolese international Fiston Mayele is overjoyed to have received his award at the CAF Awards on Wednesday in Morocco. Mayele is savoring his title of best interclub player of the year.
The Congolese international remains convinced that it was hard work that was rewarded during the CAF Awards ceremony.
Mayele believes he worked hard to deserve this award.
“It was a really long season. This is the result of hard work. I worked very hard last year and today I’m being rewarded. I’m very proud,” the striker told CAF media.
After an exceptional season in the Egyptian league, Mayele was crowned African champion in June with Pyramids FC.
His performances earned him the title of "Best Interclub Player" of the year 2024-2025 from the Confederation of African Football. This marks the end of a long drought for Congolese players.
