CAF Awards: Algeria Not Among the 2025 Nominees

Algeria's absence from the 2025 CAF Awards nominees is glaring. After the Confederation of African Football (CAF) revealed the finalists for the 2025 CAF Awards on Sunday, Algeria was not among the nominees.

Despite a solid qualification for the 2026 World Cup and a guaranteed place in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, the Algerian national team was not selected for the African Team of the Year award. Algeria's performances, while remarkable, seem to have been overlooked by the governing body.

The situation is all the more concerning for Mohamed Amoura, top scorer in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers, who is also not on the list of candidates for the African Player of the Year award. This situation calls into question the CAF's nomination criteria.

In Algeria's case, the country will be a spectator this year.
