CAF Appeals Board Overturns All Sanctions Against FECAFOOT President Samuel Eto'o

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) Appeals Board has officially overturned all disciplinary sanctions previously imposed on Cameroon Football Federation (FECAFOOT) President Samuel Eto'o, according to a statement released by FECAFOOT on August 5, 2026.

The decision relates to Match No. 46 of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, where Cameroon faced Morocco on January 9, 2026.

Following its review of the case, the Appeals Board ruled in Eto'o's favour, cancelling the earlier disciplinary measures and restoring his standing with immediate effect.

The former Cameroon captain had previously been sanctioned by the CAF Disciplinary Board, which found him in breach of the governing body's principles of loyalty, integrity, and sportsmanship under CAF regulations.

As part of that ruling, Eto'o received a four-match suspension from attending CAF official matches and was ordered to pay a US$20,000 fine.

However, those sanctions have now been completely overturned after the successful appeal.
