CAF announces the date of the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations draw
The ceremony will take place next Tuesday in Cairo, Egypt.
On 19 May, the Confederation of African Football will conduct the draw for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations, scheduled to take place in Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda. The ceremony will be held in Cairo, Egypt, at 12 pm GMT. During the draw, the 48 nations competing in the qualifiers will be divided into 12 groups of four teams.
Following the draw, the qualifying round will begin in September. At the end of the qualifiers, the winners of each group and the three best runners-up will secure direct qualification for the tournament, scheduled to take place from 19 June to 17 July 2027 in East Africa. The remaining runners-up from the 12 groups will have to go through the play-offs, which will be played over two legs.
