A significant modification to the CAF Champions League and CAF Confederation Cup player registration regulations has been announced by CAF, enabling clubs to register players who have previously competed for another side in the same league during the same season.
This update provides teams with more squad management choices by aligning CAF requirements with UEFA's Champions League and Europa League standards.
To allow teams additional time to strengthen their rosters, the CAF Executive Committee extended the player registration deadline to February 28, 2025.
CAF believes that these changes, made before of the FIFA Club World Cup 2025 in the United States, will increase competitiveness, attract sponsors, and help African sides play better.
