"But not them." Benitez explains how Inter outplayed Bayern

Inter claimed a comeback victory over Bayern with a 2-1 scoreline in the first leg of the Champions League quarter-finals. The fighting spirit of the "Nerazzurri" is being praised by experts.

Details: Former head coach of the Milan team, as well as Liverpool, Rafael Benitez highlighted the emotions with which Inter players took to the field. According to the Spaniard, this was the key to their victory over Bayern.

Quote: "The maturity with which they approached the game. Remember the anger and ferocity with which they scored the first goal, capitalizing on Bayern's errors. Inter is an excellent team. After Thomas Müller equalized, many others would have settled for the result. But not them.

They seized the opportunity to advance into open space because they have a team capable of overcoming physical challenges. They were without Dimarco, Dumfries, Taremi, and Zielinski, yet the quality of their play is extraordinarily high," Benitez said in an interview with Gazzetta.

Recall: Previously, former Milan midfielder Zvonimir Boban criticized UEFA's decision to name Alessandro Bastoni as the player of the match.
