In yesterday's match, within the fourteenth round of the Premier League, Burnley traveled to face Sheffield United. Both teams were in the relegation zone, making this match a battle for survival in the top tier of English football.

However, Burnley left no chances for their opponents and managed to score five goals. The home team netted two goals in the first half. Following Sheffield's player's expulsion in injury time of the first half, the "Clarets" found the net three more times in the second half.

This match was notable not only for the goal tally, but also for the very first goal scored. Jay Rodriguez, with a header off Charlie Taylor's pass, opened the scoring just 15 seconds after the initial whistle.

This achievement by Rodriguez echoes a feat from a decade ago, making him the first player in Premier League history to score twice within the first 15 seconds of a match. His first goal occurred while playing for Southampton against Chelsea, a match that took place a decade and one day ago. Interestingly, Rodriguez's team lost that match 1-3.

Jay Rodriguez emerged from Burnley's youth academy. He made his debut for the team in 2007 and moved to Southampton in 2012. After spending five seasons with Southampton, he signed with West Bromwich Albion, playing two seasons before returning to Burnley. The 34-year-old forward has appeared in a total of 227 matches for the "Clarets," scoring 67 goals.
