Kylian Mbappé has delivered a rather cold response to Barcelona's impressive start to the new La Liga season.

Details: In an interview with Diario AS, the Real Madrid striker was asked about Barcelona's impressive form and whether the Catalan club should be considered his team's main rival this season. The Frenchman gave a brief response, making it clear that he was not particularly interested in discussing the achievements of other teams.

“Good for them. They've won games, but it's just the beginning of the season,” Mbappé stated.

The French forward also explained that he does not like discussing other teams because he is not part of their dressing rooms and does not know what happens behind the scenes. Despite Barcelona's impressive results, Mbappé preferred to avoid making any predictions about their prospects for the rest of the campaign.

Barcelona have made a perfect start to the 2026/27 La Liga season, winning all six of their opening matches and scoring an impressive 28 goals. Hansi Flick's side currently lead the standings, sitting three points ahead of Real Madrid, who have recorded five victories and one defeat.

It is worth noting that Mbappé has scored seven goals in six La Liga appearances this season. The French striker will have another opportunity to add to his tally on September 20, when Real Madrid face Atlético Madrid in the city derby.
