Bruno Fernandes explains why he turned down a €200 million Saudi Arabia contract
Manchester United secured qualification for the UEFA Champions League, with Bruno Fernandes playing a key role, despite having the opportunity to leave the club.
Details: In an interview with Steven Bartlett, the Portuguese midfielder explained why he rejected a €200 million offer from Saudi Arabia.
Quote: “Instead of becoming the richest man in the history of my hometown, I want to fulfil my dreams. And I want to pass those values on to my children.
Listen, my wife… she decided to share my dream with me when I was only 17. I’ve been with her since I was 16. At 17, I moved to Italy and was earning €1,700 a month.
There was so much uncertainty. Nothing was guaranteed. My wife had her own life, her own dreams, and she said: ‘I’m going to help you,’ and that’s exactly what she did. Today, we have a beautiful family with two wonderful children,” Bruno said.
As a reminder: Midfielder Bruno Fernandes etched his name into Premier League history during Manchester United’s final-day clash of the 38th round against Brighton.
