Broke the net. Nottingham fans offer referee money while watching VAR
Nottingham Forest played their Premier League Matchday 22 fixture against Southampton, winning 3-2. However, a humorous incident involving fans and the referee stole the spotlight during the game.
Details: In the 64th minute, Forest scored what appeared to be their fourth goal, making it 4-1 against Southampton. However, the referees decided to review the play.
While Anthony Taylor, the match official, went to check the VAR monitor, Nottingham Forest fans humorously "offered" him money. Waving wallets and credit cards, they mocked Taylor during the review process.
Despite the fans' antics, the goal was disallowed. Nevertheless, Nottingham Forest secured a 3-2 victory.
Nuno Espírito Santo's team now sits third in the table with 44 points after 22 matches, trailing Arsenal only on goal difference.
Reminder: Nottingham Forest has opened the scoring in 18 of their 22 Premier League matches this season. In the competition's history, only Manchester City achieved this more frequently in their first 22 matches of a campaign, with 19 in both the 2011-12 and 2018-19 seasons.
