British journalist Laura Woods fainted live on air during England women's match
Ian Wright's incredible quick reaction helped Laura avoid injury.
Details: Yesterday, during the pre-match studio on ITV4 broadcasting the clash between the England and Ghana women's national teams, renowned journalist Laura Woods suddenly fainted. Her colleague, former Arsenal striker Ian Wright, caught her just in time and prevented a dangerous fall.
The cameras immediately cut away and switched the picture, but the audio continued for a moment before the broadcast went to commercial.
Later, Laura thanked Wright and assured everyone she was alright, though she still accepted medical assistance.
Fans online are praising the 62-year-old Wright for his lightning-fast reaction, which allowed him to catch Woods as she collapsed.
Later, Woods posted on Instagram:
“Wow, that was a bit strange. Sorry for the scare, I’m okay. The wonderful paramedics at Saints hospital said it’s probably just a virus, I just need a little rest and some water.”
I’m really embarrassed it happened on TV, but I’m so grateful to my colleagues at ITV who really looked after me tonight.
And to Wrighty and Neets for catching me. And sorry again everyone."

Reminder: The Fulham vs. Manchester City match was one of the highest-scoring in Premier League history
