British boxer Amir Khan was the victim of a terrifying armed robbery on a London street in April 2022. The incident shook him so much that he decided to leave the UK and relocate to Dubai, reports The Sun.

The attack occurred when a masked man, in front of Khan’s terrified wife, held him at gunpoint and stole his £72,000 diamond-encrusted watch.

The perpetrators, who had acted in coordination, were later caught and sentenced to prison terms of 9 years and 8 months, as well as 7 years and 9 months. Khan eventually recovered his stolen watch, but he still chose not to take any more risks and moved to the UAE.

"Look, I can walk around wearing anything, doing anything. I can leave my car door open, it's just so much safer here. I think the law is much more strict, I think people like us need that," Khan admitted.

This wasn’t the first time the boxer encountered crime in the UK. In 2012, he and his brother were attacked by six men attempting to hijack his Range Rover. In 2017, he was involved in a street brawl in Manchester when a group of people assaulted him following a road incident.
