Brighton forced Croatian club to change its logo: the reason revealed
Brighton & Hove Albion has become embroiled in an unusual legal dispute with a Croatian third-division club over copyright infringement. The Croatian club blatantly copied Brighton's logo.
Details. According to the Croatian outlet ePodravina, Brighton discovered that the logo of FK Jadran-Galeb, a club currently leading the third division, was nearly identical to their own. The only difference was the text.
Brighton sent the Croatian club a detailed legal letter demanding clarification about the logo's design and issued a warning to remove it. To avoid legal action, FK Jadran-Galeb is expected to comply with Brighton's request. The Croatian Football Federation has already removed the logo from its website.
Reminder. Brighton has used its iconic seagull logo since 1977, reflecting its association with the coastal bird. Prior to this, the club's mascot was a dolphin.
