Premier League club Brighton continues its search for a new head coach and has now identified an unexpected candidate.

According to The Telegraph, Brighton is considering 31-year-old FC St. Pauli head coach Fabian Hürzeler. The German coach ranks highly on the Seagulls' shortlist.

Hürzeler has been managing St. Pauli since December 2022. In the recently concluded season, he led St. Pauli to win the 2. Bundesliga, promoting them to the top tier of German football for the first time since 2011.

This comes after the surprising departure of Brighton's head coach Roberto De Zerbi at the end of the season.

Previously, Brighton's management intended to appoint Kieran McKenna from Ipswich Town, but he chose to extend his contract with his current club. Brighton is also considering the possibility of bringing back Graham Potter.
