Brian Rodríguez might be on his way out of Club América. The Uruguayan winger confirmed that Inter Miami has shown serious interest and even revealed conversations with Luis Suárez about the MLS club. “The interest from Miami is real. We’ve been talking for a few weeks. I had the honor of speaking with Luis Suárez—he spoke highly of the club. I think it could happen,” Rodríguez said, as reported by Claro Sports.

Although he remains under contract with América, Rodríguez admitted the recent season was disappointing after missing both the Liga MX final and a spot in the Club World Cup. “It wasn’t the semester we dreamed of. We missed the Final and the Club World Cup. It was a disappointment for all of us,” he stated.

The 24-year-old previously played in MLS with Los Angeles FC and doesn’t rule out a return, though he also confirmed interest from Spanish clubs—which he sees as his top priority. “Spain is my preference, of course. But who wouldn’t want to play with Suárez and Messi? That’s a dream too. I’m in a position where I can choose,” he added.

So far, América has not made an official decision about his status, but Rodríguez is among the players expected to be evaluated ahead of the 2025 Apertura season. Since joining the club in 2022, his time has been marked by flashes of brilliance but also injuries and inconsistency. Inter Miami, meanwhile, continues to build a high-profile squad centered around Lionel Messi’s leadership.
