Brian Farioli, an Argentine attacking midfielder, has officially joined Club Deportivo Marathón of Honduras on a one-year loan deal from CA Estudiantes. The 27-year-old becomes the second Argentine reinforcement signed by coach Pablo Lavallén during a busy transfer window for the club. This move follows the recent arrival of striker Nicolás Messiniti, another player with experience in Argentina’s lower leagues.

The loan agreement was made without a transfer fee and includes no option to buy, although Estudiantes reserved the right to recall the player in January 2026. The Argentine club, currently competing in the Primera Nacional (second tier), confirmed the deal through a concise message posted on its official social media channels.

Farioli is a left-footed creative midfielder who began his professional career with Colón de Santa Fe. Despite coming through the club's youth ranks and making his first-team debut, he struggled to secure a permanent spot in the starting lineup. In the following years, he spent time on loan at Arsenal de Sarandí and Central Córdoba, gaining experience in Argentina’s top flight. In January 2025, he signed with Estudiantes as a free agent.

For Lavallén, who knows Farioli from his time in Argentine football, this signing represents another step in shaping Marathón's roster with players he trusts and understands tactically. The Honduran club is aiming to strengthen its squad ahead of the new domestic season and continental competitions, and Farioli is expected to play a key role in the midfield with his vision, passing range, and set-piece ability.
