Barcelona left-back Alejandro Balde started for the Catalan side in their match against Las Palmas. However, midway through the first half, the player was forced to leave the field on a special medical vehicle.
In the 22nd minute, Balde collided horrifically with Las Palmas’ Sandro Ramírez, who had blocked the Barcelona player. After the collision, Balde was unable to get up and appeared to be vomiting blood.

After Balde attempted to stand, he couldn't stay on his feet and required medical assistance from the team’s staff to support him.

It is preliminarily known that Balde suffered a heavy blow to the neck area.
The medical staff made the decision to substitute him, with Gerard Martín coming on in his place.
Following Balde's departure, it was confirmed that Barcelona activated the additional substitution protocol, which is used in cases of suspected concussion.
