The contract saga surrounding Vinicius Junior appears to be nearing a happy ending.

Details: According to Fabrizio Romano, today's meeting between Real Madrid, Vinicius Junior, and his representatives was described by all parties as "very positive." Negotiations over a new deal are ongoing with Roc Nation and the player himself, and Real Madrid has requested a final answer as soon as possible.

This meeting was the culmination of a week-long saga: just yesterday, Vinicius told his representatives he wants to stay in Madrid and urged them to "get everything sorted as soon as possible." Real have put around €22 million per year on the table, while the player's camp is asking for approximately €30 million. The forward's current contract runs until the summer of 2027, and from January he will be free to negotiate with other clubs. For 26-year-old Vinicius, this deal will be the defining contract of his career.

Vinicius' current salary is around €17.5 million per year, meaning Real's new offer would represent his biggest pay rise in his eight years in Madrid.
