Napoli’s midfielder is struggling to reach peak fitness.

Details: According to renowned and well-respected journalist and insider Gianluca Di Marzio on his social media page X, 29-year-old Scotland central midfielder Scott McTominay is likely to miss his national team’s opening World Cup match due to injury.

It is reported that at the moment, the midfielder is in poor physical condition and there are no positive signs of a quick recovery. McTominay is also experiencing abdominal pain, which caused him to miss the team training session yesterday. Later, McTominay did not return to the hotel with the rest of the squad, instead heading separately with a doctor as a precaution.

The match between Haiti and Scotland will take place in just two days at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough.

Reminder: Fantastic! The Bank of Scotland issues new currency in honor of Scott McTominay's legendary goal
