While injuries are nothing new for Neymar, this particular match against Mirassol was set to be a pivotal moment in his quest to secure a spot in Brazil's World Cup squad, especially with Seleção head coach Carlo Ancelotti scheduled to attend in person. Ancelotti flew to Brazil specifically to assess Neymar’s form and fitness ahead of finalizing his roster for the upcoming friendlies against France and Croatia.
The injury is not believed to be serious, and Neymar is expected to return in time for the match against Corinthians on March 15.
The Brazil national team will play friendlies against France and Croatia on March 26 and April 1, respectively.
Reminder: Hope! Ancelotti includes Neymar in the list of players who could be called up for friendlies against France and Croatia
