The career of the New Zealand heavyweight could be thrown into turmoil following this incident.

Details: According to The Sun, former world heavyweight champion Joseph Parker of New Zealand failed a drug test on the day of his bout against Fabio Wardley.

The sample was collected by the Voluntary Anti-Doping Association on October 25, and today the test results revealed the presence of a banned substance in Parker's system. It is believed the substance in question is cocaine.

Parker's team commented on the situation as follows:

“I am absolutely shocked. This was the first camp where Joe was together with his entire family. The camp went brilliantly, and he delivered a strong performance in a great fight.” - said a member of the New Zealand boxer's entourage.

Parker's team now has the option to request a B-sample test, which could either confirm or overturn the presence of the substance.

The fight itself ended with Fabio Wardley knocking out Parker in the 11th round, stripping Parker of his interim WBO champion title.
