BREAKING: Chelsea superstar gets doping case closed — he can play immediately!
The toughest period in Mykhailo Mudryk's career has finally come to an end.
Details: The English Football Association has officially announced the conclusion of its anti-doping investigation into the Ukrainian Chelsea winger. A settlement was reached on July 30 with the involvement of the World Anti-Doping Agency, after which the player was granted immediate clearance to return to competition.
In October 2024, Mudryk's doping test revealed a low concentration of meldonium. An independent commission initially handed the Ukrainian a four-year suspension, but the player appealed to the Court of Arbitration for Sport.
Later, WADA's technical standards were revised. The English Football Association emphasized that under current regulations, the substance concentration in Mudryk's sample would not have been registered, and no anti-doping violation would have occurred.
As part of the agreement, Mudryk admitted to the violation and accepted a ban equal to the period he had already served. As a result, the Ukrainian is no longer considered suspended and is immediately eligible to participate in matches.
Chelsea has already begun the process of reintegrating the player into the squad. Mudryk is expected to join Xabi Alonso's team during their pre-season tour in Hong Kong.
It’s worth noting that Mudryk hasn't featured in an official match since November 2024.
