Details: According to insider Alex Crook, Barcelona have reached an agreement in principle with Newcastle for the transfer of England international winger Anthony Gordon. The deal is set at a hefty £70 million plus additional bonuses.
The Catalan club’s management is fully determined and has no intention of dragging out the process. The Blaugrana bosses have already scheduled a medical for the 25-year-old this week and expect to finalize and legally seal the deal in the shortest time possible.
Barcelona managed a real transfer coup in this race. Bayern Munich, it seems, are left empty-handed, despite the German giants previously agreeing personal terms with Gordon. As for Liverpool, who had shown serious interest in the Merseyside academy graduate, the Reds ultimately never made an official move for the winger.
It's worth noting that this season, the English winger has featured in 46 matches for Newcastle across all competitions, netting 17 goals and providing 5 assists. Transfermarkt currently values the player at €60 million.
