Neymar, a famous player from Brazil who plays for Al Hilal, surprised his fans when he talked about possibly retiring early because of ongoing injury issues. The 31-year-old player had a bad injury to his knee ligament during a soccer game to qualify for the World Cup in October 2023. He faced challenges that kept him from playing for almost a year. Even though he returned to playing in October, competing against Al Ain in the AFC Champions League, another muscle injury during a game against Esteghlal Iran made him miss six more weeks of playing.
In an interview with TalkSport, Neymar revealed that there were times when he wanted to give up. "Some days, when I woke up, I wanted to quit." he admitted, revealing how the injuries harmed both his emotional and physical health.
Al Hilal are still reportedly interested in signing Mohamed Salah from Liverpool, although Neymar’s future remains unclear. Given Neymar’s limited playing time and contract expiring in 2025, his departure could create space for a potential move for Salah. Liverpool have already rejected a £100m bid from the Saudi club for the Egyptian star.
