Brazilian Giants Clash as Palmeiras Host Flamengo in Top-of-the-Table Showdown

The Allianz Parque will host a massive showdown this Sunday as Palmeiras take on Flamengo in Round 10 of the 2025 Brasileirão. First-place Palmeiras sit atop the table with 22 points, while Flamengo, four points behind, seek to close the gap in one of Brazil's fiercest rivalries.
According to Coluna do Fla, Flamengo head coach Filipe Luís confirmed playmaker Giorgian De Arrascaeta is fit and ready to feature after coming off the bench midweek. Meanwhile, striker Pedro continues his recovery from a major knee injury and remains in doubt for the starting XI on synthetic turf — a surface defender Danilo, new to such pitches, admitted he's not fond of.
Palmeiras boss Abel Ferreira, echoing his counterpart’s sentiments, pushed back against media criticism of coaching tactics. “The coach doesn’t shoot on goal,” he noted, in a rare alignment between rival benches. Both managers emphasized collective responsibility while defending their decisions.
The Alviverde are expected to field an aggressive lineup led by Estêvão, Facundo, and Vitor Roque, supported by Mauricio in midfield. Flamengo, with Bruno Henrique and Luiz Araújo, aim to break through and keep their title ambitions alive.
