After a crushing 4-1 defeat to Argentina in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers, the Brazilian Football Confederation decided to dismiss the head coach and, apparently, has already found his replacement.

Details: According to TyC, the new head coach of the Brazil national team will be the current Al-Hilal manager Jorge Jesus. The parties have already reached an agreement, but the official presentation of the specialist will take place only in May—after the conclusion of the Saudi Pro League season.

It is also reported that the Brazilian Football Confederation will pay Al-Hilal a compensation of 2.5 million euros for the early termination of the contract. The Brazilian side wants Jesus to start preparing the team for the next World Cup 2026 qualifying matches in June.

Earlier, we wrote that the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) is considering a new candidate for the position of head coach of the Brazil national team—Italian Roberto Mancini was in the running.

Reminder: Carlo Ancelotti was also considered an option, but he himself stated that while he holds Brazil in high regard, there have been no negotiations. The Italian emphasized that he is focused on his work at Real Madrid.
