Barcelona has pulled off a transfer raid on the Reds’ top target.
Details: According to TEAMtalk, Catalan giants Barcelona have reached out to Marc Guehi’s representatives twice in the past two weeks, making an official offer for the defender.
Reports suggest Barcelona is well aware of Liverpool’s intention to sign Guehi next summer, but the Catalans are moving proactively and are ready to open preliminary talks with Guehi as early as January. Palace could lose their captain for free next summer, but Barcelona are willing to put €20 million on the table if Guehi signs with them this winter.
Guehi himself is thought to favor a move to Liverpool, but Barcelona are ramping up efforts to persuade the defender that La Liga is the ideal stage for the 25-year-old Englishman’s development.
This season, Guehi has featured in 22 matches for Palace, netting 1 goal and providing 4 assists.
Guehi’s current contract with Crystal Palace runs until the summer of 2026, and his market value stands at €50 million.
