Brandon Thomas-Asante Receives Late Ghana Call-Up for International Fixtures

Coventry City forward Brandon Thomas-Asante has received a late call-up to the Ghana national team for the upcoming international break.

Thomas-Asante has been invited by head coach Carlos Queiroz to replace Adu Kwabena, who suffered a head injury while playing for Czech club Viktoria Plzen.

The forward was initially left out of Queiroz’s 24-man squad but has now been added to the team following Kwabena’s injury.

Thomas-Asante is expected to join the Black Stars for their upcoming fixtures against Côte d’Ivoire, The Gambia and Morocco.

Ghana will begin their 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying campaign with an away clash against Côte d’Ivoire before hosting The Gambia at the Accra Sports Stadium five days later.

The Black Stars will then round off the international window with a friendly against Morocco on October 4.
