Morocco defeated Zambia 3–0 in their previous Africa Cup of Nations match, and two Moroccan players have now equalled a long-standing record set by their own national team.
Details: According to Opta, Brahim Díaz and Ayoub El Kaabi have each scored at least three goals at the Africa Cup of Nations tournament. They are only the second pair of players in the history of the Moroccan national team to achieve this feat. The last time it happened was in 2004, when Youssef Hadji and Youssef Mokhtari reached the same mark.
Notably, Morocco have now won their group at the Africa Cup of Nations for the fourth consecutive time at this tournament. This is the longest such streak among all teams in Africa’s most prestigious competition.
