American boxer Gervonta Davis has decided to embrace Islam and change his name, as reported on the page of Mutah Beale مطاع بيل.

It is reported that the 29-year-old boxer has adopted the name Abdul Wahid, which translates to "Servant of the One." Davis's conversion to Islam took place on Christmas Eve, December 24, and marks a significant step in his new personal and religious journey as a Muslim.

Gervonta Davis is a professional American boxer who competes in the super featherweight, lightweight, and light welterweight divisions. He is a three-weight world champion, holding the current WBA regular title in the light middleweight division, the WBA regular title in the lightweight division, and former titles in the WBA Super (2018-2019, 2020-2021) and IBF (2017) in the super featherweight division.

His most recent fight was in April 2023, where he secured an early victory over Ryan Garcia. In July, Gervonta was released from Baltimore prison, where he spent 44 days for violating the terms of his house arrest.
