Boulaye Dia scores brace against Auxerre in Ligue 1

The Senegalese centre-forward played a key part in Rennes’ 4-1 league victory.

Boulaye Dia scored his first Ligue 1 goals for Rennes. The Senegalese international netted a resounding brace in his side’s 4-1 victory over Auxerre on Sunday 11 October, on matchday 6 of the French league.

Coming on as a substitute in the 77th minute, the Senegalese international wasted no time in making his mark. In stoppage time, he found the back of the net twice in the space of two minutes. He first scored in the 90+2nd minute, before striking again in the 90+4th, thereby playing his part in Rennes’ resounding 4-1 victory.

On loan from Lazio during the summer transfer window, Boulaye Dia has thus opened his Ligue 1 account for Rennes. It was a decisive cameo for the Senegalese striker, who made the most of his few minutes on the pitch to shine and contribute to his team’s victory.
