On Saturday, the Boston Bruins announced that their forward, Milan Lucic, is taking an "indefinite leave of absence" from the team. This statement followed reports of his arrest.

According to Steve Conroy from the Boston Herald, Lucic was suspected in a "domestic incident" on Friday, prompting the Bruins to release the following statement regarding his status:

"The Boston Bruins are aware of the incident involving Milan Lucic on Friday evening. Milan is taking an indefinite leave of absence from the team. The organization takes these matters very seriously and will work with the Lucic family to provide any support and assistance they can. At this time, we have no further comment."

According to Duke Castiglione from WCVB, sources confirmed Lucic's arrest early Saturday in Boston due to a "domestic incident."

Tiffany Chan from WBZ in Boston detailed the arrest, stating that Lucic's wife independently dialed 911, reporting that her husband had assaulted her and attempted to strangle her. Police arriving at the scene added that Milan Lucic appeared to be intoxicated.

Originally drafted by the Bruins in the second round of the 2006 draft, Lucic became a key player for almost a decade.

In the 2010/11 season, alongside the Bruins winning the Stanley Cup, the Canadian forward achieved a career-high, scoring 30 goals and tallying 62 points.

Boston traded Lucic to the Los Angeles Kings in 2015, and after a season in Los Angeles, he played three years with the Edmonton Oilers and four seasons with the Calgary Flames.

As a free agent in the offseason, the Bruins signed him to a one-year contract worth $1 million, including $500,000 in incentives, as reported by CapFriendly.

Lucic played four games this season, contributing two assists, but has been out since October 21 due to a lower-body injury.
