Borussia Dortmund legend has yet to decide on his future
The legendary Borussia Dortmund central defender Mats Hummels has revealed that he has yet to decide on his future.
“At the moment, I have three options. A new contract with Borussia Dortmund, a move to another club, or retirement. Retirement currently seems the least likely scenario,” Ruhr Nachrichten quotes Hummels.
“Has Dortmund given me any signals? No. I made it clear that I wanted to play the final first, and then listen to what my body tells me. An adventure in the USA or a similar league is definitely not for me. If I continue, it will only be in Europe.”
On Saturday, June 1, Borussia Dortmund will face Real Madrid in the UEFA Champions League final. In the two semi-final matches against PSG, Hummels was named the best player, and in the return leg in Paris, he scored the decisive goal.
Throughout his career at Borussia Dortmund, Hummels has played 507 matches, scoring 38 goals.
