Borussia Dortmund's left-back, Tom Rothe, will not get a chance to establish himself in the first team this season.
The official website of the Black and Yellows announced that the young footballer has permanently transferred to Union Berlin. The capital club paid €5 million for the 19-year-old German.
However, it is known that Borussia Dortmund retains a first-option buy-back clause for Tom Rothe.
Last season, Rothe performed successfully on loan at Holstein Kiel, helping the team secure its first-ever promotion to the Bundesliga. In 33 matches in the 2. Bundesliga, Rothe scored 4 goals and provided 10 assists.
Union finished last season's Bundesliga in 15th place, whereas in the 2022/23 season, they finished fourth and made their debut in the Champions League.
