Borussia Dortmund have decided on the main candidate to replace Terzić

Borussia Dortmund is reportedly dissatisfied with the team's performance under the guidance of Edin Terzić this season. There is a high likelihood that the Croatian coach will be dismissed after the season concludes.

According to Sky Germany insider Patrick Berger, the club's CEO, Hans-Joachim Watzke, has been a long-time admirer of Germany's national team head coach, Julian Nagelsmann. Nagelsmann's contract with the German Football Association is set to expire after the Euro 2024 championship. Borussia Dortmund sees Nagelsmann as the optimal replacement for Terzic.

However, the final decision has not yet been made by Borussia Dortmund. If Terzic is indeed dismissed, among the candidates for his replacement, they are also considering Nuri Şahin, who has been working as an assistant coach in Terzic's staff since January.

Recall that Nagelsmann previously coached Bayern Munich, RB Leipzig, and Hoffenheim. He took over as the head coach of the German national team, succeeding Hans-Dieter Flick.

After 25 Bundesliga matchdays, Borussia Dortmund is currently in fourth place, with just a one-point lead over RB Leipzig. In the first leg of the Champions League Round of 16, Terzić's team drew 1-1 against PSV.
