In the summer transfer window, Borussia Dortmund may carry out a significant clean-up of the squad, during which the Bumblebees need to decide on those players whose future at Signal Iduna Park is still uncertain. Among them, two veterans of the team are in question for next season.

Thus, it is still unknown whether the co-operation with Mats Hummels and Marco Reus will be extended. According to BILD, the former is ready to be offered the role of a backup centre-back with a contract for another season. But so far, the 2014 World Cup champion himself has not decided whether he will sign a new deal and has asked for time to think about it until the end of the season, which the club is ready to give him.

There is no certainty with Reus yet, either. The first talks regarding the Borussia Dortmund legend are scheduled for April, but the winger himself wants clarity on his future as soon as possible.

The 34-year-old does not want to end his career and if he is not offered a new contract (which is highly likely to happen), he will move abroad, although earlier there was talk of a possible return to Borussia Mönchengladbach.
