After selling Niclas Füllkrug to West Ham, Borussia Dortmund has decided to invest the proceeds in a younger German striker.

According to Fabrizio Romano, the Black and Yellows have agreed on a contract with Hoffenheim forward and Germany international Maximilian Beier. The 21-year-old striker has agreed to sign a 5-year deal with Dortmund.

However, Dortmund still needs to finalize the transfer terms with Hoffenheim. The initial offer is €25 million plus bonuses, but Hoffenheim is asking for a higher fee for their star player. The "Bees" are expected to prepare a new offer soon.

Last season, Beier scored 16 goals and provided 3 assists in 33 Bundesliga matches.

It’s worth noting that Borussia Dortmund finished last season in fifth place in the Bundesliga but managed to reach the Champions League final, where they lost 0-2 to Real Madrid.
