Borussia achieved incredible victory over Atletico and advanced to semi-finals of Champions League

Borussia Dortmund hosted Atlético Madrid in the second leg of the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals. In the first leg, the Spanish team had won 2:1.

The match started with both teams creating several dangerous moments but failing to convert. Then, Borussia quickly scored twice. Brandt and Maatsen each scored a goal within five minutes, putting the visitors from Madrid in a difficult position.

Diego Simeone reacted to the disappointing first half with a triple substitution at halftime, which immediately paid off. First, Hummels scored an own goal, and then Correa equalized. At that point, it seemed like the psychological advantage was with the away team, and they could push to dominate.

However, Borussia had other plans. They scored twice from the 71st to the 74th minute through Füllkrug and Zabitzer, once again taking the lead in the contest.

There were no more goals in this incredible match - Borussia progresses to the semi-finals!
