Barcelona’s sporting director is currently in England.
Details: According to Fabrizio Romano on his X social media page, Catalan giants Barcelona are holding direct negotiations with Newcastle United regarding the transfer of 25-year-old winger Anthony Gordon.
It’s reported that Barça’s sporting director Deco is now in the UK, where discussions are taking place with the Magpies’ board.
Besides Barcelona, Bayern Munich are also in the race for Gordon, and could step up their pursuit following such a bold move from the Spanish side.
The Magpies are prepared to part ways with one of their key players, but are demanding no less than £75 million.
This season, Gordon has played 46 matches for Newcastle, scoring 17 goals and providing 5 assists. His current contract with Newcastle runs until 2030, and, according to Transfermarkt, his market value is estimated at €60 million.
