Super Eagles striker Victor Boniface has returned to Bayer Leverkusen to begin rehabilitation after undergoing successful knee surgery. The 25-year-old forward, on loan at Werder Bremen, is expected to miss the rest of the 2025/26 Bundesliga season.
Boniface underwent the procedure on January 10 to address persistent right knee problems linked to earlier cruciate ligament injuries. Recurring pain limited his impact in Bremen, leading both clubs to agree on surgery. He has begun recovery at Leverkusen’s training facility, sharing gym images on Snapchat.
