The fourth stage of the Biathlon World Cup kicked off in Oberhof, Germany, with the men's sprint being the first race.

For the first time in his career, German biathlete Benedikt Doll secured victory in two consecutive sprints. Second place went to Norwegian Sturla Laegreid, while third place was claimed by Edre Stroemsheim.
