Former FIFA president Sepp Blatter and ex-UEFA chief Michel Platini once again faced court over financial manipulation charges, and the court has delivered its final verdict.

Details: In 2022, the court acquitted both, but this did not close the case. The Swiss prosecution filed an appeal, but as reported by Sky Sports, Blatter and Platini have been found not guilty once more of financial misconduct involving FIFA funds.

They were accused of fraud, document forgery, and embezzlement. Specifically, Platini was alleged to have authorized a transfer of two million Swiss francs from FIFA's budget following the voting for the hosting rights of the 2018 and 2022 World Cups in Russia and Qatar.

Reminder: Previously, Platini's lawyer stated that this case had become an obstacle to his potential election as FIFA president.
