Black-and-White Swap: Libertad and Olimpia Trade Alcaraz and Rojas

In a surprising yet strategic move, Paraguayan giants Libertad and Olimpia have finalized a direct player swap ahead of the Clausura tournament and the Copa Paraguay. Adrián Alcaraz, a forward who just won the 2025 Apertura title with Libertad, joins Olimpia, while defender Robert Rojas makes the switch to Libertad.
The deal, described as a “black-and-white exchange” referencing the clubs' colors, involves two players who were considered expendable under their former coaches but are expected to play key roles in their new teams.
Rojas, who featured in 21 matches across the Apertura and Copa Libertadores, strengthens Libertad’s backline. Alcaraz, meanwhile, played 15 domestic games—five as a starter—and scored once in the Libertadores, offering attacking depth to Olimpia as they aim to bounce back in the second half of the season.
The trade, confirmed by journalist Andrés Rolón of Nación Media, reflects a pragmatic reshuffling as both teams recalibrate their squads for the challenges ahead.
