The traditional football festivity in Turin took an unfortunate turn for the Bianconeri's key defender.

Details: Juventus centre-back Federico Gatti is at risk of missing the first match of the Serie A season after sustaining an injury in the most unexpected and frustrating circumstances.

According to the reputable Italian outlet Corriere dello Sport, the incident occurred during Juventus’ customary pre-season friendly between the senior squad and the Juventus Next Gen youth side at the Allianz Stadium. The encounter ended in a 2–0 win for the first team, courtesy of goals from Francisco Conceição and Weston McKennie.

However, the second half never got underway due to a mass pitch invasion by fans. Amid the ensuing chaos, one supporter slipped and crashed full-speed into the back of Federico Gatti’s legs, sending the Italian defender tumbling to the turf. As a result of this collision, his participation in the league opener is now in serious doubt.

It’s worth noting that the 28-year-old defender has been with the Turin giants since 2022 and is contracted through the summer of 2030. According to the respected portal Transfermarkt, Federico Gatti’s market value is estimated at €14 million.
