Birmingham have already found a replacement for Rooney

Birmingham swiftly identified a successor for Wayne Rooney, whom they dismissed from the position of head coach after just 2 victories in 15 Championship matches.

As reported by The Times, Tony Mowbray will become Birmingham's new head coach, having recently been relieved of his duties at Sunderland. It is expected that his appointment will be announced in the coming days.

Throughout his career, Mowbray has collaborated with Blackburn, West Bromwich Albion, Celtic, Coventry, Middlesbrough, and Hibernian.

To recap, Wayne Rooney took charge of Birmingham when the team held the sixth position, but currently, they have descended to the 20th spot.

Tomorrow, on January 6, Birmingham will face Hull City in the Rounf of 64 of the FA Cup.
