The participation of players Naveen-ul-Haq, Fazalhaq Farooqi, and Mujeeb Ur Rahman in the new season of Indian Premier Cricket League is currently in doubt.

The Afghanistan Cricket Board has decided not to issue no-objection certificate to these players for franchise leagues for the next two years as a disciplinary action. The decision comes after this trio opted out of the Central contract.

The board's reasoning behind its decision was that this trio of players opted out of their annual Central Contracts. The organisation said that Naveen-ul-Haq, Fazalhaq Farooqi and Mujeeb Ur Rahman were favouring franchised international leagues over Afghan cricket.

Ur Rahman was acquired by Kolkata Knight Riders in the 2024 auction. Naveen-ul-Haqa was sold to Lucknow Super Giants in 2023 and Farooqi was to play for SunRisers Hyderabad.

To add, Mujeeb Ur Rahman was on the field in the Big Bash League match against Melbourne Renegades today. The Australian club said that it has not yet received any documents regarding the player's possible unavailability for the upcoming matches and continues to support Mujeeb till the end of the season.
